Plazas, community spaces, and interactive installations succeed or fail on details most visitors never consciously notice — where shade falls at 4 pm, whether there's somewhere to sit without buying something, whether a space feels like it belongs to the people using it. Public & Interactive Spaces is where we design for that shared ownership: encouraging genuine use rather than just visual appeal, and building in a degree of interactivity or discovery that rewards a second visit. These are some of the few spaces we design for strangers rather than clients, which makes understanding a community's actual behaviour, not just its demographics, the real starting point.
